Open all year round
Since 1985, every year in July, Radio France organises its festival everywhere in France and especially in Montpellier. This festival takes place all over the city, in gardens and concert halls, in squares and in the streets, to offer an extremely varied musical programme: operas, symphonic concerts, chamber music, jazz, world music... This great cultural mix is an opportunity for a wide variety of audiences, both novices and initiates, to meet and share musical emotions in the privileged setting of an "open city" under a Mediterranean latitude!
What makes the Radio France Festival special is that it takes over the whole city. Although most of the concerts are free, some paying evenings take place in prestigious venues such as the Berlioz opera house. The Radio France Festival is therefore an opportunity not only to enjoy a quality musical programme combining established names and rising stars (groups and soloists) but also to take a real voyage of discovery through the city. Each concert is the ideal "pretext" for discovering a district, streets, square or place in the city of Montpellier and combining tourism and music-loving.
