With its 1,000 square metres dedicated to contemporary artistic practices, La Panacée is a place of encounter and exchange, located in the historic district of L'Écusson. Inaugurated in 2013 in the city's former royal medical college, it welcomes more than 120,000 visitors each year. This exhibition, production and even experimentation space showcases the creations of emerging artists from many disciplines, always with contemporary art as the common thread!
Whether you are a beginner, an enthusiast or simply curious, La Panacée Montpellier will accompany you in your artistic discovery. Cultural mediators, students or historians, welcome you in the exhibition spaces to guide you and discuss the artists and their works. This accompaniment, free and accessible to all, is the ideal opportunity to reveal your sensitivity and your artistic critical sense... Organised in connection with the exhibitions of the moment, the art centre also offers you guided tours, workshops and meetings.
MO.CO is based on three sites in Montpellier: La Panacée, the Hôtel des Collections and the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. Freshly established in the prestigious 19th century Montcalm mansion, the Hôtel des Collections is located in the station area, less than a minute's walk from the Royal Hotel. This second exhibition space is dedicated to public and private collections, from artists, collectors, museums... Its restaurant Faune welcomes you in the green garden, for a creative and bistronomic tasting with Mediterranean flavours.
La Panacée Montpellier is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm to 8pm and on Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free for all. Guided tours are organised every Wednesday and Saturday at 3pm, special tours for families take place one Sunday a month as well as "focus" tours at lunchtime on Fridays from 12.30pm to 1pm. A wine, beer and tapas bar, Le Café de la Panacée Montpellier welcomes you for lunch and dinner, indoors or outdoors, and on Sundays for a family brunch! To get to La Panacée, walk about ten minutes from the hotel or take line 1 and get off at Louis Blanc.
